MaP Road Trip 1963
“I wasn’t sure quite to go about this… The idea goes back to the days when modelling magazines contained more than “how I did it- bought this” style of writing. Layouts with back stories- Craig and Mertonford, Stronalachar saga, and Madder Valley.
I am working on the history of the Mertonford and Pinetree Railway (RR) and as an introduction came up with the trip on the line. A much updated article on the one produced some years back, to take account of the changes over recent remodelling. It re aligns reality with the MaP’s map!
As this is too long to inflict on the general membership, and may be of “interest” to a wider group, I have asked Alan to place it onto the web site. Maybe other members have similar back stories for their creations. It does not have to be a loft empire, in those far off days much was written about coffee table models too. If the model is prototypically inspired but not a copy of a specific, thinking in this way can deepen the interest in a project and even suggest further developments…"
